Posted June 4, 201014 yr Hi Budgie aficionados, Firstly, great work with the site, lots of information. Thanks for the FAQ's, it looks like you have all put in a lot of time and effort. I am after a fine reference book (in dead tree format) on the humble Budgie, with good photographs. A complete manual, with detailed information on (inter alia), terminology, anatomy, maintenance, breeding for showing, diseases and treatments, relevant to Australian conditions. Is there such a book? Which book do you recommend? I have tried a search of this forum for "book recommendations" and didn't get a lot of results.
June 4, 201014 yr Budgerigar by Rob Marshell is excellent and the most recent book written on budgerigars that i know off but with a price tag of over $100 and i havn't seen it available second hand as with the Challenge by G Binks. If you try ebay for secondhand books there is normally a good range to choose from. As for older books I always personally found anything written by Cyril Rogers(budgerigars in colour) a worthwhile read but there are many different authors to choose from. If searching for something specific the internet is as good as anything else. Also most budgie clubs have a library that you can borrow books from and members with a wealth of knowledge. Hope that helps
June 7, 201014 yr Author Thanks for the replies. There's a bird show nearby this weekend and I'm hoping there'll be some books for sale.
