Hey all remember this hen that had the bad the tumor kind of thing next to her eye. well are having it lanced I think 3 times, and her cere went blue on the side of the swelling.

Well it's a miracle her cere is light brown and the swelling has gone, she had a massive lump there and it's now gone totally wierd. Her eye is a little messy still as she has being rubbing it because the feather get in her eye but at this stage she has made a full recovery.

To think I was going to get her put down as I thought it was crueled to let her suffer like that and she is my best hen I have ever bred.

Here is a picture when she was bad but IT did get much worse than this picture, the lump forced her head out side ways really bad and her eye was pushed done that you couldn't see it any more but now her eye is back and she is normal again.

I can't believe it her eye was right down low you couldn't see it and if I tried to clean it, it would bleed and her brow was swollen so much with what looked like a tumor. all gone.

I did beg Greg to put her to sleep as it looked sooo cruel but I am now thankful he wouldn't do it. Geoff operated twice on her and somehow weeks later it must of worked. her cere was blue on the side of the tumor and now all brown.

I gave her a fly in the baby aviary for a few days.

She is down with the violet her uncle have my fingers crossed. She is a tough little bird. She would have to be the best hen I have bred so far.

She is a full sister to your cock Kaz. Her sister from the same nest awhite Df spangle died a few weeks ago. I was very upset over that so I am glad this girl has come good.

I love her she is sooooo pretty and I have won heaps with her :D

You'll probably findthat she did not have a tumor at all. Infection in the sinus cavities, which are close to the orbital socket, can give the illusion that the eye is affected. The infection in these sinus cavities are so great at times that they push the eye out of orbital alignment.

Great information :D

It was actually strange because her eye always looked good, no discharge or anything. It appeared that the lump was on her brow to the middle of her heading pushing the eye down with the swelling. Inside the lump had the characteristic of a feather cyst first operation, second operation only blood like she nearly bleed to death.
