hi everyone.

 

i just wanted to show you all my pet turtle - KINGSTON !

i got him for my 15th birthday, and he was only the size of a 50cent piece he was so little

and now he is 2 1/2 years old and about the size of the palm of your hand!

he grows so fast

omg i want a turtle .i remember when i was a kid at kindergarden they brought two snakes and turtle for ss to pet and i wanted to pet the turtle but instead they put a snake around my neck :s. AWSOME PET !!!!!

Kingston has budgie eyes....the white iris rings......

 

Does he eat from your hand...my mum had a pet turtle for about 15 years years, it lived in an area off the garden, with it's own pool etc, and she would take it down treats all the time. He would hear her coming and walk out to meet her. Unfortunately a neighbourhood kid, took it and let it go down the local creek. She was extremely upset as you can imagine.

 

And wow, he sure has grown fast in 2.5 years...he looks fun!

oh Kingston is super cute. Boy he has grown fast, you must be feeding him lots of good food. Do you know what type of turtle he is?

Is he a longneck turtle?

 

I remember always finding those things on the road, because we lived near a creek, and 99% of the time they would of had a cracked shell from getting run over. They're tough little critters.

 

Just, uhhh, don't shake them like my grandfather used to......that causes them to demonstrate their defensive mechanism lol

He's really cute Alpaca boy !!! One of the pet shops near me sells these - he looks like he is very spoilt. What size tank is he in and does he come out of the tank at all?

yeh he is a pretty cool pet to have! =)

 

when he swims its like he glides through the water, my mum says he is a "cool swimmer" ?? lol

 

he lives in a tank about the size of 1m x 50cm x 50cm

and he has a little platform which lies above the water which he

is able to hop onto. and he has a uv light above his platform, so he can sunbake

which is by the way one of is favourite past times

 

but his favourite thing to do is eat

i feed him fish cubes, which are fish in a cube! amazing isnt it

they are approx 1.5cm by 1.5cm and he gets 1 every day, so its no wonder he is so big

as they are only spose to be fed every 3 days apperently?

 

he is a MURRAY RIVER SHORT NECK turtle 'emydura macquarii'

i think they are also known as the macquarie short neck turtle?

 

yeh his eyes are like budgies! same size too

yes he gets to come out of the tank every weekend, and he walks around my room

and ignore what other people tell you, turtles are fast! lol he runs aaway from me

 

lol yeh their defensive mechanism... once there was aturtle on the road

and we pulled over and my dad picked it up and it shot out some urine looking thing ?? lol

it was like a jet of water

but then we took it to a local pond!
