I'll be going too, if I can get what I want from this one I'll be giving the Melbourne ones a miss. Fingers xsd I'll be able to get a few, hoping to get 6 if I can either 3 pairs or 2 cocks and 4 hens...... I'll see how I go.

I wouldn't call 6 bulk :(

I'll have to see how the prices go first, might not be able to afford as many as I'd like.......

Silly statement, I'd like more than 6, that's just how many I think I might be able to afford!!!???

Maybe, hopefully we don't both want the same birds......

Is it the St George Branch that has their meeting on the 3rd Friday of the month? I've been thinking about tagging along to one since I don't get to go to my own branches ones.

I wouldn't call 6 bulk

Not sure if I'll actually have the cash for 6, I really have no idea about the price range I should expect???????

Since I've only been saving since the begining of the month I might come home short handed by the sound of it

I really don't think his birds will go cheap as they are in great demand, I have heard of top breeders go to SA to his place and paying $1,000 a bird and I heard a little while go that he has topped his price up to more than that per bird.

But if any one goes it would be great for you to post and let us know what they go for. We then start saving for next year

im thinking thats a good idea splat id love to know how much they go for

:D i know their not cheep

But then I heard a few weeks ago that a prominate breeder went there buy some birds and came home with none as they weren't up to scratch for the money he was charging. BUT then that doesn't mean anything as the breeding or blood is still there. $$$$$$$$$

It did say no reserve, fingers crossed there might be a few that just don't get too much interest.

Well you never go and you need to there to find out.

I would go if it was Melbourne but Sydney nah miles too far away. Would spend a fortune by time the auctions start.

Just getting there and somewhere to stay, food etc.

go linda you never know

people always saying certain breeders birds are going to be heaps but then

theirs always a bargon to be had

if i could go i would just bid on any birds that took my fancy up to the price i was willing to pay per bird

and mabe you will get a brake

one of them got to be cheep enough

like i said just bid on everything till you get one lol i would

just dont go over your set price for per bird untill you see you have no hope then meld your limit per bird together to just get one it would be worth it

I'm definately going to go, just for a look at the birds and to see how an auction works at least. It's very close to where I stay when I'm in Sydney so it's pretty easy for me to get there.

I was hoping to be able to get birds for under $200 a piece but I don't mind shifting my budget around and spending more on one and less on another or sacrificing a few potential purchases in order to win another. The cheaper I can get a bird the better and if some birds that I wasn't thinking about don't get a lot of interest I might put my hand up for a bargin, not sure how many of those there'll be though.

If all goes well I'll walk away with a decent base from which to work on and establish my own line from..... fingers crossed.

From all the rumours i have heard through the clubs, the prices at this auction would be insane! He is South Australia's Super breeder and he makes a LOT of money at this auction. KK birds are Not cheap. You visit his stud and want a bird, he will charge you $1000 and he will hand you a bird that you can not even pick for your self. I would go to the auction, but i wouldn't expect to get anything.

Would be interesting to hear what you all report after :D

I went to the kk Auction last year and the prices ranged from $20 to $2600 most birds selling between $100 and $300 off memory

That doesn't sound too bad, most birds should be at least in reach......

I suppose like with any auction you never know what prices are going to be like, it all depends on who goes to and how much they're prepared to spend.

I'm hoping I'll be able to sell my Black Headed Python before the auction which should boost my $$$.
