Posted May 17, 201014 yr I would like some more experience as to what type of mutation Vinaka is. I would much rather hear it from someone who know alot more than I lol
May 17, 201014 yr Looks to me like a violet cobalt as the colouring is quite deep and normally camera blue doesnt show up very well. Might be a normal cobalt, but if it is purple in real life then go with violet lol. Also the wings need a bit of a clean up with regards to the trimming.
May 17, 201014 yr ummm... i think it is a violet for sure! but i was thinking d/f violet sky, as i thought it was a lighter purple dean from nz what do you mean by clean-up? is there something wrong with these wings?

Look at the way the flights are trimmed. It is better to trim the primary flights just in front of the major coverts so that when the wings are at rest you dont have feather barbs or half cut / angled cut flights sticking out. These can be a bother to the bird and dont look natural/attractive. When I clip wings I make sure the wings still look natural and there are no sharp feathers jutting out which can irritate the budgie.
May 21, 201014 yr Hi, Is Vinaka the bird on your signature picture? If so he look's more violet in that picture.
May 21, 201014 yr Author It is the same bird...but its hard to go by feather colour in that one as it was in the afternoon and thats the time of day that the sun comes through my window and hits my pink curtains (thats why this picture is more pinkish)
