Posted May 13, 201015 yr My little budgies are now about 1 month old, and one of them have different pattern on wings. (Father is Df spangle mum is not spangle) The rest of chicks to compare: Edited May 13, 201015 yr by Zuzel
May 13, 201015 yr If mum is opaline, then dad is a double factor spangle opaline. The chicks are all spangle opaline from what i can see.
May 13, 201015 yr Author Yes, she is  But is it normal for opaline spangle to have pattern like this? It's quite different from the rest, and looks.. not so spangle

It's quite different from the rest, and looks.. not so spangle  okay i dont see a diffrents am i missing something all just look opaline spangle to me which is what you would expect from a df spangle opaline to a normal opaline hen who is ovioulsly yf bird one of the peronts is anyhow as you have three yf chicks
May 14, 201015 yr There are always differences in the wing marking strength of both normal spangles and opaline spangles. Nothing there that sets off any alarm bells for GB, Kaz and myself.
May 14, 201015 yr I agree with what Dean_NZ has just said. I do commened you however on your observational skills. You saw a small difference and questioned its validity. Good on you!
May 14, 201015 yr Author okay, so he is a normal opaline spangle One more question: this very yellow chick is SF goldenface isn't he?
May 14, 201015 yr you would have to tell us the colouring of the parents first to determine that any better than guessing like you. however due to the colouring of siblings i would believe you are correct. was there meant to be a picture?
May 14, 201015 yr Author Well... parrents mutations: Father is skyblue DF spangle, SF YF2 opaline, and mum is SF GF? mauve, cinnamon opaline. She is a lot more yellow than cock, polish breeders even told that she is olive - but this pairing proof that she is not yellow, so I think GF... When I look at the chicks and see the difference between intense in yellow between them, i suppose it really is GF...
May 14, 201015 yr Just a tad long....but my ninja skills can take it But seriously, some nice opaline spangles there, very pretty
May 16, 201015 yr Your babies look very similar to mine. They are all opaline hens from a violet double factor spangle opaline cock and a normal cobalt hen. As you can see, the spangle marking vary. The are beautiful birds, just wish their violet coloring showed better in the photo. Edited May 16, 201015 yr by PAdoula

May 17, 201015 yr Author great So i'm waiting for the moult  But he will be green even he is cobalt? I thought that only skyblues turn totally green... And one more question - If hes genotype is GF YF2, than i think he won't be totally green PAdoula - I have the same problem with violet factor in the photo Edited May 17, 201015 yr by Zuzel
