Posted May 8, 201015 yr Hi All, Just a few pics of my babies 1st outing to flight, other birds shut away so they could test their wings. These 7 first in kindy cage. More Spangles to come. This one looks y.f. mauve? cinnamon opaline, so Dad's hiding Cinnamon as well Mum sky blue normal. Some more lovely pied's in nest. Last one is beautiful apple green, cinnamon. Her Mum was mother to long feather chicks last season. This one plus 2 still in nest look great. Other two look identical at this stage. Relly pleased with outcome so far.

May 11, 201015 yr Author Just finished singing parent's praise, now this because Mum started laying again. We think. Left Dad to finish rearing chicks. This is Aquariu's No 9. circled area has been lifted under cere. Has bled again to-day through Dad feeding, but looking "as well as can be expected" at least it's feeding. This is a prettier picture: No 5 front. Edited May 11, 201015 yr by robyn
May 11, 201015 yr Thats a darn shame After everything looked to be going so smoothly as well I am in love with queenie's no.1
May 11, 201015 yr Author Thank's Maddy, just goes to show anything can go wrong at the drop of a hat. Bub seems to be coping o.k. am keeping a close eye on it. Dad's still feeding the chicks just fine so here's hoping they'll all be feeding themselves soon. Yes Queenie's No 1. is lovely a beautiful soft green against her yellow head it very pretty. I have moved five out into aviary and they are all coping well, found food, water, green's and swings in no time.
May 13, 201015 yr Author Thought I'd add Hulk's No 4 here as well. He popped out of nest box "out of turn" maybe he's shy. Hulk Junior. Edited May 13, 201015 yr by robyn

June 8, 201014 yr  aww. They are all so cute. Can't wait to start breeding. I noticed your babies have different coloured leg bands on, are they club rings or something else? Edited June 8, 201014 yr by rachelm
June 8, 201014 yr princess no. 1 and aquarius no.7 are cuties!! what colour is aquarius no.7 looks violet i love princess no.1's shade of green, belissimo!
June 9, 201014 yr Author Hi Alpaca-boy, No's 5.6 & 7 are various shades of mauve? violet? whatever, very pretty soft colours. The camera dosen't pick up true colour in aviary. I suppose they will change at their 3mths moult. Princess's no 1-3 are still same shade of apple green. aww. They are all so cute. Can't wait to start breeding. I noticed your babies have different coloured leg bands on, are they club rings or something else?No Rachelm, just pet shop split rings, so I could colour code nests so I don't pair up siblings or parent-chick etc. Also to know which pair had which chicks, to see what parents are split for. When I get it all worked out. l.o.l.

I put them on from 3-5 days depending on chick, but being split you can ring them at any age I'd say. You get a little tool with rings to help with ringing.
