Came home from a couple of days away and found their first two chicks in their nestbox. As I recall there were around 6 eggs and most were fertile

( will double check the other eggs tomorrow to be sure as I am going off what I saw last time I candled ) .

She is the mother of chicks.....Frannie, Mac and Nubbly.

You might get cobalt and sky too as the white df spangle cocks mum is cobalt spangle, the hen in signiture is the full sister to the white boy and she is a beautiful hen. :)

I thought I might :o Going good so far

Can't wait to see them feathered, have my fingers they turn out like their parents either parent will be great, bothe have good directional feather.

I called in to Geoffs today to see my 3 babies, the 2 violet hens are looking good, excited about one of them looks promising. I would like their heads wider but I will just have to wait and see, the spangle isn't bad either, they are from 2 differnt nest. Can't wait for to leave the nest so I can bring them home. They are only about 3 1/2 weeks old so a little while yet. Sorry no pics as I have no camera still.

Third chick died......you may notice from the dates that the third chick arrived a day too early. It wasnt ready. Yellowbelly from early hatching.

Other two are growing very well. Quite large chicks for their age. I think only one more to hatch.

I think the poor little buggar,

was over exposed. :laughter:

:D:)

Another chick hatched and the pair now also have a couple of foster chicks. A novice hen wasnt feeding her babies correctly and she let a couple die so I had to move three. One of those died though. So there are five in that nest.............it seems three of the foster parents chicks and two fosters.
