My budgie is just under 6 months old and he flys into walls all the time. I have come back from holidays today (I have had people looking after him) and I see that just under the cere the beak is cracked. There is no sign of bleeding and he is eating, it just looks like a hairline fracture. I have taken is "hard" bell toy out of his cage so he may not damage it any further. If I leave him in the cage and only let him out when I am holding onto him will the beak grow back? I guess I am just worried that it will snap off.

If he's only six months old it may mend itself as he's still growing, provided it's not broken right through. If it's just a crack and he's eating o.k. he may be alright, but I'd be leaving him in so he' can't damage it further. Other's may have experience with this that can help further. Finger's crossed he mends well.

Some growth crack lines can look like they are a worse condition. A photo really is needed as it may be a normal growth line and not a full depth crack.
