I checked this morning and no chicks in the nest......only eggs.

 

Checked at 4pm, 1 chick screaming/wriggling for food, there was no egg shell in the nest or cage so I was "assuming" it hatched in the morning sometime.....gave wet egg and biscuit at 4.15pm...... by 7pm still screaming for food, empty crop sounding weaker.....I decided to foster to another nest...first time I have done this so I am a bit unsure, have I stuffed up????

 

Should I check the foster mum has fed this baby in the next few hours??

You need to have fed it yourself before you moved it.

If it has nothing in the crop...feed it now at the nestbox and put it back under the foster mother or it wont make the morning.

okay....going now.......It had food in it's crop!! I guess I was lucky she fed it..... I will remember that for next time though.....
