Posted April 23, 201015 yr Hi i bought this budgie from a lady about a month ago. I was told the bird was about 1 year old and she thought it was a male, so did i. It acts like a female, chews everything etc. But the cere is blue. I'm confused. http://i868.photobucket.com/albums/ab249/r...56/IMG_4022.jpg Edited April 24, 201015 yr by KAZ

April 28, 201015 yr hey can i ask a dumb question too, wat colour do males ceres turn when they are in breeding condition? or do they just stay blue????? from hayden
April 28, 201015 yr wat colour do males ceres turn when they are in breeding condition? or do they just stay blue????? The more knowledgeable folk can correct me if I'm wrong but, I believe, the cere on a male will turn a deeper shade of blue when he is in breeding condition. I have a male like this at the moment. The colour of his cere is coinciding with his "friendly" behaviour.
April 28, 201015 yr Are we talking "Dark eyed clears" as in the topic heading? Sorry.... but my DEC male cere's don't ever turn blue.....
