Posted April 16, 201015 yr Hi all... I have removed my Hen from the avairy after noticing she has injured her leg. It seems to be her whole hip?? sorry photo's not too good, didn't want to stress her out too much more... It's her left leg, she is still getting around slowly....... Any thoughts to what she may have done? Can you see in this photo that both feet are on the seed holder but her hip seems out? She was still getting around okay but decided to remove her and put her in a seperate cage
April 16, 201015 yr You might need to take her to an avian vet. If her hip is out, there is really nothing that can be done to fix it. I have had birds like this that I have had to send to a better place. I am sorry to hear this. Put some calcivet in the water to help her keep her bones strong. Not much i can add here I am afraid.
April 16, 201015 yr I agree with Dave.. Sorry to hear about the hen... We having alot of clumsy hens lately on here... Maybe we need to bring up some old topic's regarding health, bone strength, etc... Always a good read the old topic's... Hope the other birds are all okay though...

Thanks Dave, and yes you are 100% correct, The Vet said she had badly dislocated her leg at the hip with very bad swelling and fluid.............very sadly my girl "Jump' has been put to sleep about half an hour ago, so she is now in a better place......... R.I.P. Sweet "Jump", Im so sorry I couldn't fix you sweetheart.....
