My pair have only produced 3 eggs is this normal?

There both first time breeders.

I was expecting 5 or more......

very true, my pair that is sitting has only two eggs,one laid two days ago and the other laid yesterday

Thank you, fingers crossed they hatch, this will be my first lot of show baby birds bred since purchasing them from a breeder.

It's now only 2 eggs one has been cracked and she's not spending much time in the box.

:)

You could be upsetting her from sitting on the eggs, if you are continuing to check the nest... Or she could have broken it going in and out or it could have been the male...

The last two eggs were clear no good, so I have given up on breeding them at the moment and I have returned all pairs (2) to the flight.

I'll try again in spring I think I was expecting too much from birds I have only had for 3 months.

There all very health and enjoying there 3m X 3m flight.
