Posted April 9, 201015 yr When a baby budgie is a Spangle, what do the tail pinfeathers look like? They are all dark with two clear ones in the middle, right? And a normal is just all dark, while pieds can have some clear ones? Is that all correct? If not, please correct me..if so, then why did my two baby Spangle budgies have all clear tail pinfeathers with two dark-ish ones in the middle instead of the other way around? They are just Spangle, no other mutation. So I'm slightly confused.
April 9, 201015 yr Clear pins yes...and there will be photos of that on this forum in a search. But as far as yours go.....we need photos
April 9, 201015 yr Author They are older now (25 days) so here's the photo I have that showed their tails when they were still pinfeathers. In real life, the outside pinfeathers were yellow and the two in the middle were a dark blue with white-ish at the top.
April 9, 201015 yr Author Okay thank you. Why are they called clear pins however, as they aren't really..I did leave for easter holidays when they were that age above and only came back today so I missed a lot of their growth, would the pinfeathers have become obviously clear when they were a bit older? April 9, 201015 yr That is not a clear photo....................... so i dont know what you can see colourwise, but that is what I would expect to see if the chick was a spangle......two middle clear pins no matter what the colour seems to be ...the tail is a spangle chicks tail
