I checked Chubba Chubs tail just now and it looks green. I'm probably wrong or something but my other greens have blue tails. I have a few photos of it so you can tell me what you think. ;)

Great! Hope it isn't reccessive else I may have some trouble breeding. I wonder if Skye and Marigold will have another green tail? I may have to keep it, was going to sell it. Is there a breeder near me who would like him?

Heres what you don't want to do:

Sell any babies or parents... They may come in very handy...

True.. I'll see what everyone else has to say.

very interesting... i wonder if its a melanistic spangle... would be interesting to see how it looks after a moult or two :)

I thought one or more parent had to be spangle? And the tails are white or yellow?

Edited by Ratzy

not sure. they are white on a blue bird, so they are probably yellow on a green bird too.. but the tail looks spangle... to me with the black tip

Hmmm. The opaline has a weird looking tail too. I need to check it when I get home. Do you have a picture to compare it to?Hmmm. The opaline has a weird looking tail too. I need to check it when I get home. Do you have a picture to compare it to?

its a waiting game for now. yes, it is very unusual to have a budgie with a green tail like that so please hold onto that bird and some of its relatives until we know what is happening with it. it may be nothing, or it may be quite special :)
