Hello Everyone from Tokyo!

 

This is my very 1st post as I have just joined but been following this site from the outside and amazed at the wisdom and knowledge that exists here!!

 

I have budgies as pets and my 2nd couple have had 2 fertile eggs that have produced cute babies. I will try and post the photos inthe album section - but the question:

 

what do you call these babies??

 

okay father: yellow faced clearwing pied opaline (my wording!!)

mother: white faced greyish blue pied with white wings ( if that makes sense)

 

babies: both have yellow faces and seem to be pied

baby 1 -blueish green yellow in the face and tail

baby 2- more like mum but only dark wings and also yellow face

 

what would you be calling these little ones??

 

any help appreciated!

Hi and welcome to the forum.

 

We would need photos to properly identify the pied types that you have. If both parents are dominant pied some of their chicks could be double factor dominant pied. If the parents are different pied types some of the chicks could be a combination of pied types. Also if the father is opaline the female chicks will be opaline

these chicks are yf opaline cobalt chicks

 

do you have pics of mum and dad as these chicks are not pied

however i breed chicks from pied bird like this and a white winged blue hen so

if you have done the same pairing then these chicks are split pied recive pied would be my guess

but to be able to tell defenently picture of mum and dad are needed as other wize my words are worth nothing

Appears to be Aust Yelllowfaced Opaline blue. Cheers Clearwing
