Hi just took a photo of my budgies eggs and just need it confirmed that 3 are fertile, as you can see from the photo i think she has lined them up with fertile one's in front and infertile behind.

Looks like it! I am by no means an expert but I think you have it right. Bet your looking forward to chickies! By the way.... that is very neat hen you have there

I don't know Kaz. Marigold always had the fertile eggs underneath her properly, while one was always under her wing or tail. And it was definately infertile, not chilled.

Budgies rotate and shift the eggs in and under them and out again and all take turns being moved into the right positions for a certain period of time. So I still say that at this particular moment in time the photo was taken.......it was a fluke.

Thanks Kaz and Ratzy, I think the three are inferile as she laid her last egg on the 28th

and as it's her first clutch maybe not such a bad thing.

28th and 31st today......3 days .....depending on when those eggs were laid one or two could still colour up. Have you candled them ?

You should candle them - never know, they may be fertile!

I tried to buy the little light the Liv has for candelling and my hardware store sold out,(should of bought it when i saw them before christmas) so i bought one that looks like a miniture torch with 7 little l.e.d lights and i think it's to bright.Will try to find something more appropriate tomorrow.

could you maybe take one or two of the little light globes out? That will make it darker

It should be fine as long as it doesnt put out heat against the egg
