Posted March 30, 201015 yr I decided to place my semi-tamed birds into the avairy so they could get some decent excercise and then i could use there much bigger cage for the birds i got from Liv.Instead of catching them and placing them in a smaller cage for the transfer i lugged there cage into the aviary and released them. 3 out of the 5 have been in the avairy before so they were happy to fly out,but Feathers was a bit freaked out and i was talking to him to calm him down.My little girl came along and wanted in as well so stupid me opened the avairy door to take the cage out,and out flew my little boy I'm hoping he's hanging around but i can't see him.
March 30, 201015 yr Author I hope so Houman, out of all of my birds he's the only one willing to step up on my finger and be friendly.
March 30, 201015 yr He may not be too far away....what have you done so far to check the neighbourhood ?
March 30, 201015 yr Look everywhere! I really hope he comes back. Put up flyers and adds in the newspaper. Tell your neighbors in case they happen to catch him. I really hate to get your hopes down but I had 2 that went to a friends place for 2 weeks and they left the door open when I warned them that one could unlatch the doors! I never saw them again. Sorry. My cockatiel got out too. I think someone found him because he hung around then was gone.
March 30, 201015 yr I lost a 4 week old newly fledged baby that flew out the aviary door once............early morning. By 6 pm later that night it came back and I ended up catching it ( she stepped onto my finger from a tree branch ) so there is hope. We also got back a princess parrot recently that escaped.

March 30, 201015 yr he will come back dont worry Can you guarantee this??? Please be careful about giving such advice. Awww, I'm so sorry he got out. I've lost one from my avairy before I added a safety door. He never came back either. Don't loose hope. Leave a familar cage out with seed so he can return to it, and let everyone around you know so they can keep a look out. Check out our FAQ's for more tips as well. Good luck and I really hope he comes back.
March 31, 201015 yr Have hope! The same thing happened to me with my Skylah - Click here Good luck with your hunting, I do hope your little boy will be found safely
March 31, 201015 yr If there no Miner birds,Magies, crows, hanging around, he may stop around. But if chased, the chances are slim, that he will still be around.

March 31, 201015 yr There has been no sign of him anywhere around,i think my little guys gone but i won't give up just yet.His little girlfriend is looking very sad and sitting onher own in the avairy so i hope he can hear all the birds and come back home. The thing is..........I hear all the time from various people who find birds in their yard or clinging to the sides of their aviary. I hear all the time from others who "found" a bird............these people often race out and get a cage to keep it in and after awhile get attached and end up keeping their found birds. Not everyone looks for the original owner. So, often the bird is safe in someone else's home and they just havent looked enough for the original owner. So, do your letterbox drop of leaflets in your block and around 3-4 other blocks nearby. Put a notice in all the vets, pet shops and bird supply stores and at you shopping centres. He may show up yet. You have to be sure, in your own mind, that you have done all you can to find him.
March 31, 201015 yr My cockatiel got out and I'm convinced someone found him and just kept him. Someone I know got a budgie off their uncle which was found in his canary aivary. If someone found him they'd probably think you'd mistreated him. I also know someone who lost a budgie and he showed up on the door step months later, so do not lose hope!
