February 16, 201015 yr Author Just checked. No sign of it. I put a bit of nesting material in. Skye is in the nest box. Is he supposed tobe in there? It looks like he is feeding the chick? I though the males fed them from 2 weeks onwards? Edited February 16, 201015 yr by Ratzy

February 17, 201015 yr Author Yeah she is sitting. I checked the baby and it has a full crop and tiny white down bits. She pushed it under her quickly though, I could only see three eggs so maybe she is hiding another chick. Either that or the other egg. Â EDIT: I just changed their food and water and I just peeked through the nest hole. Good news! Chicky number 2 is officially hatched! Edited February 17, 201015 yr by Ratzy

February 17, 201015 yr Author Umm, question. An egg was moving slightly by itself. Does that mean it is preparing to hatch or something. Or is it a chick just shifting about inside?
February 17, 201015 yr Yayayay Pinkies :grouphug:  That's fantastic Ratzy! You must be proud! How very exciting for you
February 17, 201015 yr Author Thankyou! They are cute. Can anyone shed some light on why they egg was moving by itself?
February 17, 201015 yr I'm only guessing, but I think maybe the chick inside would be getting ready to hatch? Is there another one due tomorrow? Â If it's not because of a soon to be hatchling, maybe you accidently bumped the cage? And the egg was moving because of this? Â I'd like to think its a new pinkie getting ready to hatch! :grouphug:
February 17, 201015 yr Author So would I. The other eggs didn't move and it was moving slightly from side to side.
February 17, 201015 yr Author Here are some pictures. The egg that is in the corner was being sat on until I got out the camera. She then moved to cover the chicks. Â See the pinkies? Not very good but that is pretty much the best I could do, lol. :grouphug:
February 17, 201015 yr i see pinkys too very cute what a good mummy bird give her a millet treat in her box now if you can she will fill the chicks rappedly if you do this just cut it up into Peaces and place in their like thirds and put in one third a day
February 18, 201015 yr Author Here they are! Marigold went out to collect some nesting material ( downy feathers) off the bars of the cage so I got out the camera.

February 19, 201015 yr Hi Ratsy, great progress. Don't know what others think, could you add a bit more nesting material, oats etc. so Mum doesn't sit to tight on bubs? If they had a bit more, say an 2/3 cm deep it would be softer under them than the floor of box. Just watch your remaining eggs. See what others think. Memories of splayed legs with me. :sadsorry:
