Posted March 11, 201015 yr I'm not exactly sure the gender of the budgie, but, my love bird, other birdy, is a male.I've had other birdy for a little more than a year now, and he's never bonded with any other birds, even my other lovebird. Only recently have I allowed other birdy to visit the other birds, and, well.. He's found someone. I'm almost positive the feelings of other birdy are identical to the feelings other birdy has with him.. Should I be allowing this? Is this okay? If you can tell me the gender of the budgie, I'd be really happy. The cere is a little bit darker than white, but only on some parts. I am unsure of the age of the budgie. March 11, 201015 yr Your budgie looks like a female and looks to be around 3 months old. I would allow them to visit each other supervised but not be housed together. Cute picture you should submit it for this months Budgie of the Month competition.
March 11, 201015 yr budgies are social creatures so by nature they will bond or try to bond to another animal or human, that is why when you have a sole budgie (bird) you will find that they do bond closely with their human, because this budgie is a baby this behavior is very normal as the love bird is the closest thing to another bird, I would not be afraid of the budgie hurting the lovebird but vs versa.
March 11, 201015 yr Author Well, I have four other budgies and that budgie wanted nothing to do with them.
March 11, 201015 yr that is because he was the odd man out most likely you had 4 the other once probably were already established with their pairs or bonding friend therefore it left him out and no one to pair with.
March 12, 201015 yr Female budgie as Elly said. As we have seen many lovebird attacks on budgies over time I would not house them together. Edited March 12, 201015 yr by KAZ
March 13, 201015 yr That is a cute photo, I personally wouldn't house them together. I think (not 100% sure) that lovebirds have this stage where they are cute and cuddly and then once they get to a certain age they can turn vicious. Is the lovebird a baby?
