March 10, 201015 yr Author So confusing!!! I've been calling Yoshi he/she/boy/girl all day, not knowing which is right but not wanting to just say 'it.' Haha! Those pics were taken without flash, I'm too scared to use the flash on the camera on the poor guy/girl's first day at home! Here are some more, though I doubt they'll help because they're from that same photo session/lighting setup. If this is one of those "time will tell" situations, how much longer until the cere will show the sex? I'm not sure how old Yoshi is because he/she is not from a breeder, and I am clueless with guessing those kind of things. Edited March 10, 201015 yr by ultrav0x

March 12, 201015 yr Author I'd say Yoshi is male...and very very cute! Yay! I love him Can I ask why his cere is so brown, though? In real life, that blue tinge at the top is hardly able to be seen, it just shows up on photos.... Here's another IT LOOKS SO BLUE IN PHOTOS! Should I take a picture with flash?
March 12, 201015 yr it is the way budies are - young males have PINK cere (what you call brown) and it turns to a dark blue as an adult. Females when young have a mixed cere mostly pale blue which changes to a crusty brown colour as in adult. this change happens anywhere from 3 months to 8 months. most birds from pet stores are around the 3-4 month ages when sold to them
