Hi All,

Top price was $700 for an Ian Hunter Cinnamon Grey Green Cock. Plenty of birds in the last 50 making over 200. Good birds from Ian Hunter, Julie Kruisselbrink, Alan Rowe and Mario Capasso.

Very happy with my average price and picked up a super cinnamon grey hen from Julie K for $500.

Geelong is still the best auction in Victoria for "realistic" prices.

Auctioneer is "stuffed"!

Cheers

Great job PT and YES those prices sound real good......might be worth a fly over next year for me :D

Sorry macka didn't realise you were there, I was a bloke with an orange Texas hoodie on (I'm sure you were really paying attention to what blokes were wearing  ) did ya pick up any birds?

It doesn't surprise me at all with those prices of the last 50 or so... Some good birds in there.

There were plenty of phone bidders KAZ, that could be an option for next year...

Looking at the prices of the birds for this auction, makes me wonder what the prices for the other auction will be

:lol::D:lol: It didn't even enter my mind how that would sound.

I really enjoy auctions, gotta get to some more of them this year...

yep it does. Thanks PT. Should've put in a bid on that Cec Gearing one that Tonkin started at 100... :D easy for me to say who didn't spend a cent on budgies

This was my first ever budgie auction and it was very interesting and exciting....I couldn't stay until the end though because my hubby was getting a little impatient, waiting in the car.

......and I bought a nice opaline cobalt cock bird for $80.

Most of the birds were really nice, but I noticed that at least 2 of them had health issues (eye infection) and I am wondering why they were up for auction.

That is some thing,I will bring up at out

next meeting, the birds with the eye problem.

By the way they sold okay,I just hope the buyers,

noticed the eye problem. The birds are there for all to see.

PS Lealotta, you were lucky, you did't have to wait till

the end of the auction to pick up your bird.As rule the birds are not released till

the end of the auction.

You did a good job PT,Iam very critical of some of the

Auctioneers, at some of the Budgie Auctions I go to,you worked

the the bidders with a smooth aproach & did dwell on a bid & knocked them down.Thumbs UP.

I was interested in one of the birds with the bad eye, but then saw it had an eye problem and decided not to bid on that one....think it sold for $60.....and yes, it would be good to discuss that at your next meeting, in my opinion birds with health issues shouldn't take part in an auction.

I was lucky to take my bird home ealier :D . Next time I will leave hubby at home and bring more time.

 I really enjoyed the auction. Well done!

Gee wish I was able to go but I went to Melbourne the day before and got caught in that storm on the way home, it was very very scary I thought I was going to die, ripped my windscreen wipers off my car and I have a dint in the bonet where a branch flew past at I swear a hundred miles an hour.

It looked like a war zone when it slowed down. Trees all over the road for miles and miles and cars crushed by trees.

But as for the auction sounds like the prices were great as last year they were much higher.

You should have stayed over for the night and gone to the auction and home the next day :D

Yep it would of been safer :D No But I didn't have the money to waste, have big car problems but now I have more since the storm, and beside as Greg puts it I have enough and today I decided I am only going to use a few of my cock birds this year so the rest will go and there are some nice cocks there too.

I am mainly going to use the DF spangle yellow cock on as many hens as I can, at least 4 hens

His son the white DF spangle the same about 4 hens

The violet half brother to the yellow DF spangle about 4 hens

The violets brother who is a violet about 4 hens

The grey green half brother to the cocks above

Lt green spangle son of the yellow Df spangle

Then I have some young birds but I might leave them till next year.

But then I am having a go at dom pieds, clearbodies and clear wings
