Maybe you get a bird to auction the birds , like Megan Fox or cameron Diaz Hi Matt, Agree - caught "ol Moonface" at the end of 20 to 1 (you know - when 9 lets things run over the advertised time!) - not good!! We shouldn't let this deteriorate into a sexist diatribe, but I would be all for Ms Fox. What about Tara Moss - she would almost make you bid! :hmm:

March 5, 201015 yr Author Sorry Matt, Can't guarantee Ms Fox or Ms Moss, but the auctioneer will do his best despite his gender, etc. The birds should be good though! Cheers, PT

March 7, 201015 yr Curiosity... why hold it on a monday when people have to work? Public holiday here on Monday . I haven't been to a budgie auction before and would be interested in how much a budgie at an auction goes for.....are there usually some that go for $50-100 or do most of them go for over $100 or more?

Depends on the reserve prices set by either the auction organisers or the breeder of the bird.

March 7, 201015 yr I get to go!!! I didn't think I would be able to, not gonna get any birds just going to check out the quality. Taking my son with me too which should be an experience (trying to get him into them so that he can convince his mum that they are cool and I can have whatever I want when this house is finally built!!!)

March 7, 201015 yr Couldn't bring the camera, flat battery, some great birds here though. Looking forward to see some highprices... Quote of the day so far, "don't be embarressed if youre a black eyed breeder" great auctioneering PT Edited March 8, 201015 yr by JimmyBanks
March 8, 201015 yr Well I'm back from the big day out at Geelong, had a great time... Spoke for a minute or two with PT. I had to leave with 52 birds still waiting to be Auctioned but had a great day none the less.

March 8, 201015 yr The sale average, was $150 65 bidders signed in, Jimmy, I would of said goodday, if I knew you was there. This would of been the best average for about 10 years
March 8, 201015 yr 680 for one from Mario Capasso, 520 for a G. Tonkin. 580 for a Gearing. I think they were the top ones while I was there... In the last 52 there were a couple of really nice ones too which I think could've rivaled those birds. Its great watching people with way more money than me going bid for bid over a bird. It's also interesting to see how the different varieties go for different prices...
