Please can some brains trust help......

 

KFC - Characters - Kentucky Fried Chicken? Does any one remember the 2 characters, one is a tuxedo wearing Fox with a top hat and the other is a chicken or rooster with a large orange/yellow beak, wearing blue pants with yellow stripes up the sides and suspenders and a civil war cap (with the guns crossed over the front) Does anyone remember what these characters were called and how they came to represent KFC?

 

This is nearly impossible to research. No info found on the net yet....

I can not get any info from the first link, but the second one is the picture of the fox and on that same site there is a picture of the chicken dude but it gives me no names..
