Hi my budgie has a forest green metallic leg ring with the number "55" on it. Which recent year was this colour leg ring used? I read somewhere that every year is supposed to come with a new colour?

Legrings do have a different colour every year, ( which colour varies between countries you live in ) but also a code with the year on it and breeders code initials. If your budgie legring just has 55 in it, it would be a generic legring bought over the counter at a bird supply place. Is there more on the legring ?

okay....then its a generic ring and the colour wont have anything to do with year of hatching.
