Hi All, For the last few days my dark eyed clear hen has been sitting "flipping"? her wings. It's like she's going to fly but doesn't. Doing it repeatedly out in flight or in aviary on perch. Is this a sort of breeding behaviour or what? I haven't noticed any others do it.

I know mine sometimes does it if she thinks I'm giving the cockatiel more attention food wise. Maybe it's trying to get another birds attention.

Thank's ratsy, it was just something new that I hadn't noticed before, I keep watch to see if I can work it out. :D

When the budgie flap there wings without flying, they are stretching/exercising their wing muscles.

Thanks 'birdluv' it's not a definite flap, more like a flip, bit like when their hot and have wings out from their body, they don't hold them out just a quick flip.
