A statement like that is one way to test if you know anything....like he did when he said it. If there is a pink budgie there will be photos LOL was that your next question to him sqeak ?

I laughed at him and asked him if it was either a rosa bourke or a albino masking violet, and he looked at me quite seriously and said it was true. He said he could write out the formula and plan for me, it takes a minimum of 4 years, but unfortunetley we had to leave, so he didnt have time to write it down. He bred three as a child for a contest for Womans Weekly.

I am going to sell a small bridge I have for sale. It is a prety good revenue raiser as it links nth sydney to the centre of sydney. I thought I would offer it for sale on here first. I am looking into other investments. If there are any takers, please let me know. If not, I will put it up on gumtree or ebay.

Not that I believe for one minute but I find that if you are so damn convinced that it can be done that when he offers you a 'formula' and you say sorry I don't have the time! Seriously, how do your expect ot be taken seriously with a hole the size of the ozone in that piece of literary work. Also he was a CHILD at the time! Squeak how are you going to prove us wrong? You left without the formula! Oh and just a thought. I wonder if WW have a record of this.

Forgot to mention. I have been to Kelwyn's place along with Ken Yorke and a few others and at no time was there any mention of Pink budgies. I wonder why.

i would be careful putting names to people squeak spesh a breeder as well known as kelvin

i do not know the man nor do i think i ever will

but im sure he was just pulling your leg

making conversation seeing how gullible you were or weather you had it in you to tell him hes telling porky pies

the only way you can get a pink budgie is to breed a violet albino

i have one in my flight now been their two years

the sun hits her she is pink but this bird is no way genetically pink it is but a reflection of light

her daughter also is pink albino if you want to go as far as to say that

the truth is they are just suffused with violet giving the impression of a pink feather

If I bred a true pink budgie and I had great numbers of budgies I could breed with to develop that line I would. A true pink budgie would fetch far more $$$$s than the best show budgie at auction.

So, why arent there great numbers of these pink budgies in Kelwyns aviary ?

And if he is so quick to offer you a plan to breed them why hasnt everyone else got the same plan and why arent there a multitude of other breeders already acchieving this thanks to the freely offered and so called recipe ?

Cameras have been around for hundreds of years. If there was a true pink budgie that photographed as a pink budgie not a trick of the light or a sheen on some feathers, it would be documented already.

If someone with his show birds and expertise had this knowledge they would have pink budgies on the show bench by now.

would not matter what you replied

you will never ever be able to give proof of pink budgies and as for breeding them when young for womans day

im sure they would have had pics in fact a whole page or more on it :}

but ive never seen or heard of this issue ( mind you ive never read it ) but still im sure it would of been in the budgie councils archives somewhere

Make your phonecalls, sleep on it, look for your visible proof and then get back to us Squeak

and Google till you can no longer Google

pink budgies do not formally exist except for in the form of what i mentioned earlier in this thread

Aah. The legendary, if not mythical 'pink budgie'. No need to say more on that!

What a pity Barrie Shutt has deleted his picture of his bird... that would've put all doubters to rest... ... ...

Barrie Shutt's so called Pink Budgie is all over the internet and it isnt a pink budgie at all. He was pulling peoples legs. It fell into a sack of the pink powder he uses. Pays to know whats behind photos and not just take them on face value JB.

15-01-2007, 08:33 PM Barrie Shutt http://www.budgerigars.co.uk/forum/archive/index.php/t-827.html

i feed my birds a supplement that stains the feathers pink, what you see is not always what you get,it was not uncommon for birds to be dyed before sale in some countries.

*****************************************************************************************************

and JB......you already brought this up in yet another pink budgie topic as you know ( or have you forgotten ?? )

back to pink budgies...

just to add fuel to the fire...

KAZ

Does NOT pay to pull random pictures off the internet JB as we know that to be a bird of Barrie Shutts and there is a story behind that which is NOT a natural pink budgie. It is a joke Barry was playing on people at the time.

I think you know this already ?? :D

So shall we ignore this pink budgie ??????????????????

I can assure you that it is possible to breed a pink budgie:) I know a breeder in Adelaide who has in fact bred one, many years back. He won a prize in a show from it. I am considering breeding one. -_- All I have been told is that they somehow come from a Rainbow budgie, and a proper rainbow one not just different mutations mixed.

I think we should close this topic. No more good can some from this.

There are around three pink budgie topics on the forum Dave. They arent out of hand and only one person so far believes in pink budgies. That person raised the topic again. Closing topics isnt for the fed up with it cos we've heard it all before and over and over again opinions but closing topics is for anything that gets out of hand. This isnt.

If a pink budgie could of been breed,KK would of bred it.No doubt he was pulling someone leg.

He breeds Budgie's by the Hundreds & in years gone by & still dose, to a lesser now,has Auctions of just

his own Birds. There was no PINK ONES.
