Posted February 11, 201015 yr Can you please tell me what color you would get if you mixed a grey with a yellow? I have taken these two out of the aviary and put them in there own cage. Thanks
February 11, 201015 yr I think grey is donimant so you would probably get greys or maybe the odd yellow.

February 12, 201015 yr I'm not sure on what colour the female is..But I'd say a Grey Spangle male and a Yellowface Double factor Spangle female. I don't know the exact percentages but you'll get about 75% Spangle and 25% DF Spangle like the mum. Blues and Greys of different shades, half will be Yellowface...And suprises as well.
February 12, 201015 yr Author Thanks for that, he was fluffed up at the time I took the photo. There both 08 birds. Cheers.
February 12, 201015 yr i can't tell the hen's eyes if they are black or red, but i would lean towards black. Is there an iris ring? Jen is right if she is a DF spangle as it appears in that picture. 25% grey 25% yellowface grey 25% yellowface 25% blue if they are both only single factors

My male wont settle down he just flies back and fourth between perches, he has been in there for two days now. He can hear and see the aviary birds from he's cage so maybe this is the problem? Cheers

Can please tell me how long it usually takes for a bird to settle down, the hen settled in on the first day and it's now day 4 and he still just flies around and shows no interest in the hen. Is there a time limit to how long I should give this cock to breed? or should I replace him with another male? Thanks again

February 20, 201015 yr Author okay I have removed the grey cock bird he would not settle down and the hen was not interested in him at all. I put another male in with her and bingo she was in luv and so was he, they started pruning each other in the first hour or so, maybe these two had a bond already from being in the aviary? He is yellow with green patches. And the grey I put back in the aviary has also found luv wow these little birds really like to choose there own partner, I will put these two in a breeders cage in a week or so. :bliss:
February 22, 201015 yr Sounds more promising, now you could have two pairs go down instead of none, if cock wouldn't settle maybe he just wanted to pick his own mate.
