Need To Figure Out Sexing Of Younger Budgies

Featured Replies

Posted

I have been checking my budgies every few weeks trying to work out their sex, I am certain with 6 of them a perfect blend of 3 males and 3 females. My other 8 I thought I better just check with everyone.

Snowy and Shadow

Snowy on the left I believe is a male and shadow on the right a female

Tweety I believe may be female although while in quarantine i thought it was male

Blossom I have thought from the start female but i have my doubts now

Grimmis I am confident that grimmis is a he but cant hurt to check he kept hiding behind another male (best picture i have)

Rex (in the middle) wouldnt sit still but got him im thinking female but dont have a clue really

Snowflake left and Cheecky right (both males?) still in quarantine

Okay here's my opinions:

Snowy is male, Shadow is female

Tweety looks female, a better picture would be good

Blossom could be either..

Grimmis is a definite female

Rex is male

Snowflake and Cheeky are both definite females

One rule to go by................any white on a cere is female in youngsters. Purple pink is male.
