Posted February 5, 201015 yr They're all asleep right now so can't go take any pictures but as the four chicks start to feather up from my olive green dom pied cock and mauve hen two of them look like they might be normal greys, the third seems to have a hint of blue and the tiniest is looking very white all over. Does this sound possible? Is it possible to deduce what the parents are split to from these results?
February 5, 201015 yr Not unless you've got the thought to be extinct recessive grey. Otherwise greys are a dominant variety and you need a grey to get one.
February 5, 201015 yr If the hen is a mauve, then they (the chicks) are more than likely mauve. There is no grey gene in the pairing so can't be grey as it is dominant. PT
February 5, 201015 yr from my olive green dom pied cock and mauve hen Is the cock actually olive or might he be grey green ?
February 6, 201015 yr Author from my olive green dom pied cock and mauve hen Is the cock actually olive or might he be grey green ? Quite some time ago I posted pictures of the cock and the general consensus was olive.
