Seed Kicking

We placed the seed bins in the cage and sat back and waited for them to start eating. Stormie immediately went over to the seed holder and next thing we knew, seeds went flying everywhere. We realized that our other hen Jessie does the same thing. Then she promptly jumped down to the cage floor and started pecking at all the seeds she had kicked out of the thing, after a bit she did the same thing again. However when she tried to do it a third time, Stan the male pecked her in the head, so she went off to another perch and glared at him. Now if we can just get her to stop trying to lay down in the seed holder, luckily we have two in the cage. Ollie is almost clear quarantine and we are going to pair him up with Jessie our hen. The screeching of Hedwig our other hen which is paired up with Kramer our violet is quite alot. Esp when Kramer keeps going over to the cage to see Jessie, she swoops down and screeches at him and pecks him in the head. He then gives us, the what did I do to deserve that look, lol. Kramer and Hedwig seem to be fully bonded as they are exhibiting the bonded pair behaviours. It is quite lively and noisy both in the quarantine area and the area where our first three budgies are located. They definitely all seem to have a different personalities lol.

:D It's not a hen thing.....most of my boy budgies do it too :P

I used to have that problem until I changed the dishes.

My previous budgie Pingu (who escaped :P ) used to fully BATHE in her seeds!! (I can imagine it probably felt really nice, particularly on a warm day!) But she'd make SUCH a mess of her cage, so i had to change to a different seed container too!:budgiedance: hmm, my signature looks ****, think i'll change it!!
