Posted February 3, 201015 yr We are going to add a 7th budgie to the flock tomorrow and possibly an eighth, if we see a male one we like. This Budgie is mostly grey with a sort of yellow face and dull yellow markings elsewhere. Will put up pics. We were talking to the woman at the shop, when she flew over to us and sat there and cocked her head at us. They placed her in another cage,so she would not be sold.

February 3, 201015 yr Author We were in yesterday looking at the Budgie we are getting. There is an olive green male who keeps hanging near her and he seems to go where ever she goes. We are thinking of getting him as well right along with her. We asked them to hold her till today and they placed her into the cage next to where he was and they hung on either side of the cage next to each other. soooooo, make that Budgie number 7 & 8,lol. Can we put both of them in a cage together during quarantine or do they need to be in different ones, they are coming from the same shop.

You can quarantine them together because they came from the same place Olive green budgies have navy blue tails. If the tail is black its a grey green. Commonly mistaken for olive. February 4, 201015 yr Author Thanks Kaz, Going by your info, he is a green grey. He is huge rofl, compared to the hen. They are preening and feeding each other already. We are not going to say this it for awhile, because everytime we say that, . We will post pics as soon as we get back from doing errands. At the moment happy chirps are coming from all the cages along with the hens screeching as soon as they hear one screech, they all screech. The wife informed me due to his clumsiness, the Male is Stan, we named the hen, Stormy, hmmmmm we now have Stan & Ollie , and both are shades of green lol Edited February 4, 201015 yr by tomlou670
February 15, 201015 yr Yep I'm hooked already and we have only had the birds for two weeks, I'm trying not to buy anymore and just let the ones I'v got breed. They sound like nice birds enjoy!
February 18, 201015 yr Author We just added another hen, we named her Willow. This makes ummmm number 12 and counting lol.. She is doing good in quarantine. She flew right out of the box right into the quarantine cage. She appears to be a violet with grey, because the violet does not look as brilliant on her as it does Kramer. her cheek patches are a really vibrant violet colour. We have to put aside a day when we can take the pics of all the ones we have recently purchased and post up.
February 18, 201015 yr I can so relate to this, I can't go to the pet shop without wanting to buy more. I moved here almost 4 years ago with a dozen Budgies, about the same number of Zebra Finches, 6 King Quail and about 8 Gouldian Finches. Since then sadly some have died, some bred and were sold and now I have 7 Budgies - 1 just died the other day, I'm shattered, his sister is sick in a hospital cage; 20 Zebs, 16 Gouldians, 2 Red-Faced Parrot Finches, 2 Orange-breasted Waxbills, 12 King Quail and 3 Rainbow Lorikeets; 2 dogs and 2 fish! I think that's all of the clan along with me and my son. By the way I am new to this and please bear with me I've never done this before.
