Posted January 30, 201015 yr My house previously looked like this Today we moved out all the furniture out, ripped up the carpet in the lounge room and dining room, and also ripped up the vinyl in the kitchen Getting the floor tiled next week. Very exciting.

It all goes smoothly for you! I have heard so many horror stories about unsupervised tradies, I hope you get lucky with good ones!
February 1, 201015 yr Author Gee it did look nice before you ripped it up Dave It was nice, but the carpet was impossible to keep clean. The dogs had no problem with it, but it seems that was because they were the ones leaving the muddy little footprints everywhere. One of my dogs occassionally throws up, due to an allergy, so there were multiple carpet stains as well The new tiles will be a similar colour to the carpet, well the clean sections anyway. Rugs will remain, furniture all comes back, only tiled, not carpet. It will be less dusty as well as the carpet traps the dust.

February 5, 201015 yr Author Well, the tiles are all down, or up in terms of the shower and laundry walls, and the grouting is being completed. Photos will come later in the day, but I am very pleased with the way it is all turning out.

February 6, 201015 yr Looks fantastic!! I am not a fan of carpet! Tiles are so much easier to clean! Yep tiles are great, as too polished floorboards. It is looking really good Dave!
February 6, 201015 yr Author Well, the tiling job is done. I will let the grout dry and tomorrow I will do a complete wipe down with a wet mop. I need to buy a steam mop now, but that is an easy cheap thing to do. I am going away to Yr7 Camp on wednesday until friday, so next weekend I will move furniture back in. New photos tomorrow.
February 6, 201015 yr Looks great! I've always wanted to do the whole main floor in tile but we compromised and went with laminate and some tile ...at least that way I get rid of the carpet!

February 12, 201015 yr Looks great Dave, bet you are pleased They did a good job, I have seen some shockers over the years. I am sick of the carpet in our lounge also.
February 12, 201015 yr Looks great Dave, I actually just got home from looking at a unit with Lisa and I was amazed that the lounge was tiled and I thought really what a great idea, saves cleaning carpet when you move out, I think the bedrooms had carpet but the rest of the unit is tiles. The tiles look the same as yours Dave.
