RIPbudgies, you seem to be spending a lot of time on this thread today - is there anything you would like to add? B)
I didn't think so. ;) Get your skates on sweetheart, you are going to need them. :)

Ahhh gee Daz I have 28 years and 3 months before I reach that age :) as they say 50 is now the new 30 ;)

Nice to see you back :)

Great i'm looking forward to being 30 agian B)

Of course you don't, nor do I and have not done so for some years now. ;)

I am still at a loss to explain how one of my birds ended up in SA of all places! :)

Well I had birds from you once, and then we had Liv over here from S.A. Chances are high she passed one on. And as you dont seem to keep records of your culls....I guess the new owner will never know anything from you.

Also Liv bought birds at the auction where you sold birds and it could have been amongst those.

Liv actually sold the bird to me. A normal grey cock , and I asked Renee through PM about his lineage. Sorry if I did the wrong thing, I am just starting out so I didn't know some breeders didn't like to give out history on the birds. Liv also told me that she bough the grey cock from an auction, and you were bidding on another bird.

Oh the memories of that day ;):)

This thread escaped my notice until today. Renee, I don't see any way to really tip toe around you comment and I also don't see the point so I will be blunt.

Renee, as you do not know my web surfing habits please don't presume to know where I have been spending my time today. I have read this thread in many instalments today as I have also being looking for a job (yes I am again unemployed), making/receiving phone calls. If you would care to track my usage on BBC (I also do it on other forums) you will note that I often leave a thread just sitting as I dash off to do something. As I have also hurt my back sitting at the computer for too long is currently a tad painful and on seeking pain relief forgive me if the last thing on my mind is wether or not I have left this thread active or not!

Why are you attacking me. Yes, I will take it as an attack. Your statement on wether I will comment or not is none of your business. Just for the record I felt any comment I could make would only echo the writings of others and so felt it unnecessary. But since you seem to want comment, here goes.

I have obtained bird from you, purchased and given freely (of which I am grateful). I have not had one pedigree. I did ask, as I always do when obtaining birds. I have birds from Kaz and Gina and although Kaz's computer consumed the records which is no worries, these things happen, Gina has supplied me with a pedigree for all the birds I have obtained from her.

I really think you need to reconsider your actions towards those wishing to obtain records. Obviously somebody has upset you and taken this to heart. In 20 years I had this happen many times but I never told the person I would not give them records. Look upon it as an opportunity to enlist a potential club member. The way things are at present, people living on postage stamp sized properties, the hobby cannot afford to turn people away or give out such publicly available bad press.

Some have made the comment about hunting pet shops for birds. Here is my own personal take on that. When I am near a bird establishment I will always go in for a look. My main aim is keeping my eye out for something unusual and if found I will purchase the bird. At this juncture in time - just starting out again - I will and have bought a couple of budgies from the 'pet shop' in ecent months , 2 Fallow cocks, 1 Dilute hen, 1 Cinnamon hen and a Grey Green cock. My son purchased the latter two and the other three birds orignated in SA. I have no choice at present to get birds to start with from these sources. As things progress and my employment prospects hopefully improve I will seek other sources.

Well said RIP, I back you all the way with what you said ;)

Yawn, sigh, hic! :D

I do find it tiresome that I need to explain myself, I would much rather communicate with people that just get it.

But Kaz has urged me to be more generous, loving and caring so here goes.

I didn't plan for this thread to develop the way it did, it just grew from what I will loosely call a "triple barrel salvo". :D

From my short time in the sub-culture of Show Budgies and their breeders I have noted a curious trend with some breeders not talking to others and a lot of hoisting the petards and an inordinant amount of who-hah. I guess some would just call it human nature. B) As a result some breeders will only sell to a select few and so all manner of wheeling and dealings go on with "proxy" buyers and the like. :)

So let us begin at the beginning, and in no particular order:

1. Show breeders beware, do not touch my Pet Shop Clearwings with a barge pole - there is a 50:50 chance the cocks are carrying/split for Opaline. B)

2. I am loathe to acknowledge any bird that I am not proud of, I have only been breeding show budgies since 2007 and the thought that someone Interstate would want one of my "pet shop" birds embarrasses me. I really do not pay too much attention to my pet shop birds and I do not keep good records on them, in fact I should keep much better records full stop. :)

3. I have mentioned to Kaz, and a few others, that I will be getting out of Yellow Faces/ Golden Faces/ Aussie Mutants and more than likely they will be going down to the Pet Shop. Yes, they are very strong birds but after the Great YF Symposium I figured that ithey were just going to have to go - I am juggling too many varieties as it is. Coincidentally at this time Kaz asked me when I was planning on taking them there and so I promptly postponed it. ;)

4. RIP you are not my cuppa tea. Anybody who boasts that they regularly used to go round to Novices places and pick up some rippers 'cause the Novices didn't know what they were parting with should in my opinion be shot on the spot. Especially poor timing my dear after I had just given you that ripper of a Golden Face that you had been asking for on a number of occassions. And when I called you and left you a message asking if you wanted his sons it would have been nice to actually get a Yes or No. There is an outside chance that I got the wrong telephone number for you from Kaz, if so please disregard the final comment.

okay, me cansé de este tema y no lo voy a discutir más: Translation, The End.

This may seem rude of me, but I personally think this thread should be closed or locked. I do think it has gone on long enough and people are going to get offended, upset, annoyed, P****d off etc. I can picture all the private message wars now.

If I were a complete new new member as of the last few weeks, and I saw this thread, I'd not stay - I'd try and find somewhere else that has a better atmosphere.

Of course I know better and this is just one bad thread out of a brilliant forum, but to a new member coming on here and searching culls or helping a purchaser - I honestly think some of them would run a mile.

I hate the idea of losing members and not gaining new ones because of overheated differences of opinions.

Yawn, sigh, hic! :D

Agreed Renee I have, in the past, mostly definately obtained good birds from Novices. They usually ended up being Novices such as yourself who despite trying to help have their head too far up their **** to listen. So if they then wish to dispose of such birds I will gladly pick them up. At that time I was on little income and could not afford to pay great sums of money to purchase birds and for your information I do believe I also mentioned that I picked up throwaways from breeders of other levels too like those cheque book champs. I was just informing you of how I began in order that you do not make those mistakes and get rid of birds that can, if used correctly, will help rather than hinder you. Some times like you I suffer form the dreaded 'foot in mouth' syndrome I do not always pick the correct words or maybe on some level I do not use the right tone of speech but I am a good person and I don't set out to do harm to anybody. It is in my nature to help people and despite my life being in the toilet right now I still go out of my way help people. I can in all good conscience say I have never set out to deliberately decieve anybody on any matter EVER in all my 52 years! I do not appreciate the inference you have implied and taken out of context any words I have said.

Regarding the Goldenfaces. When I first came to your establishment the first bird caught my eye was the Goldenface cock that you did eventually gifted me. Again I say to you I appreciate your generous offer but I now wonder. I have never been one to receive objects gifted to me with first asking if the person really is sure that is their intention and that it is given with no strings attached. I find that in most cases there is always a down side to this generosity. Your attack on me is unregrettably confirming my suspicion that this downside does indeed exist. I tried to tell you that the bird you called a Green was in fact a Goldenfaces and that he was indeed a very good one. You would not let him go but allowed me to purchase a lesser Goldenface cock. I also informed you at that time if you ever find that you do not want the other bird anymore I would gladly take him. If I was the person you wish to paint me I would not have said anything left you to think he was just some ordinary Green bird.

I have recieved no phone calls nor messages from you re Goldefaces. Although my home phone will take messages when I retrive them they are unintelligable. My mobile has been disconected. If you still have the birds I would still be interested in them but I will pay for them. I have no further intention of receiving any more birds from you in a gifted format. Of the birds I currenly have in my possession that you last gifted me I shall return to you or pay you the required recompense.

I find that looking into shops interesting.. Many breeders (of all levels0 sell there culls there. Some birds that time to mature and realy show after some time.

These are good to try with. Many still have rings on and can be traced.

I sell all my birds with rings on. I am proud of all my birds whether Show beaters or not.

3. I have mentioned to Kaz, and a few others, that I will be getting out of Yellow Faces/ Golden Faces/ Aussie Mutants and more than likely they will be going down to the Pet Shop. I am deeply disappointed as various accusations from Renee trying to say a few times now that I was off after her culls to the petshop.

I havent bought petshop culls for a very very long time now, I would say around 2 years. I dont have to.

I most certainly am not going after Renees petshop culls and despite what has been said I still dont know where she sells them nor do I care.

Nor would I chase off after them to buy them at petshop prices. I havent even bought any of Renee's at auctions.

I do not like being accused of things I have not done, or the inference made that I may have done something I would not have done.

I just want it on record that I am NOT the person she seems to be inferring who goes and buys her petshop culls, and therein lies my great disappointment in the direction she has taken in this whole topic.

:o
