Out Of Breeding Condition?

Hello,

My name is Prince and I am new to this forum. I have a doubt. I don't know if my male budgie is out of breeding condition. Any help is greatly appreciated :)

Judging from the photo he looks a little out of breeding condition to me, I suggest you feel his chest to see if he is skinny or has some weight on him, what most people fail to realise is that budgerigars[ as with most animals] need a certain amount of body weight, to breed successfully. I agree with clearwing. This bird does not look 100% happy to me.

Thank you all for replying. I had a feeling that he was not in breeding condition. He is a very particular budgie. He is not sick as I took him to the avian vet last week and he results were good. He just keeps to himself and chatters by himself. He doesn't bond with anyone and I was hoping to breed him. The last time I paired him up he wasn't interested in the female so I put him in the aviary. But like I said he keeps to himself.

He doesn't look happy to me either and his see isn't really bright blue and he should be shirping and be very active. :hap:
