Hi everyone, it is a sad day today, my wow bird passed away but he was very old but was hoping to get one more season from him.

I loved this bird so much he is responsable for all my good birds I have now as he was my foundation cock.

He was complete gentleman, he will forever be in my thoughts and he will missed so badly.

I called him "old boy". :P

:) old boy :)

Oh sad! Sorry to hear of the passing of such a great bird!

At least he will be well remembered in his chicks and grand chicks and great grand chicks etc. When you look back on your pedigrees he'll be right there.

Yes that's one way at looking at Nubbly, I can see him in all my birds because he is :P

Father to the violets, yellow DF spangle and so on.

A very sad day for you :P suffice to say he has also left little footprints on your heart not just his children and grandchildren around your aviary :)

Sure has Kaz, he was my wow bird, my favorite bird of all :P , it was sad to see him pass but I guess his age was against him. :)

Hi Clearwing yes has left his mark very well, I had to see why he died so I did an atopsy and he had a tumor or a very thick growth on or around his gizzard how ever you spell it , can't believe I didn't through up as I did it all my by myself, Greg did the inspection once I disected him poor fella. His heart was normal along with his kidney and liver, probably old age for sure.

Good learning curve though.

You would be amazed at how many of our birds die of Tumors or cancerous growths.

Last year I had a bird that just died for no reason so Greg cut him open and yes he had tumors everywhere. Cancer I guess you would call it

I am sorry to hear of your loss, but it sounded like you gave him a great life :)

R.I.P. gorgeous bird

You know the grandchildren look even better than his children! I would imagine that is 'cause you line bred them?

  • Author

Thanks Renee, yes trying to line breed, with most of these birds of have to come back in on the christmas tree this year.

No one is really close yet like I haven't done father to daughter or even grandaughter to grandfather yet but and working on the second one this year. Have done half brother half sister though but I haven't picture up yet, I only got one baby.
