We ran into another breeder who also has violets. We are going to be purchasing a violet hen from them on Feb 4th. We now are in the process of looking around for a possible mate for her, we figure something off the wall to mate with her. So much for us telling each other, this will be the last budgie for awhile.

Stop the press, we are now getting TWO hen budgies absolutely FREE . Should be within the next day or two, PLUS our neighbour is going to help us build a massive aviary, because the guy does not want his birds anymore. so to date make that THREE Hens on the way. This has been a very surreal day, we only wanted one at the moment, but now are getting THREE. Plus a whole heap more from the guy who is giving them up. More details at 11, lol

That is awesome, make sure you do strict quaratine too , congrats.

we have all the mite treatment stuff lined up and we have the area for quarantine all lined up. We've moved Ollie to a different area as extra precaution. He seems okay so far and we don't want him to be affected by anything. lol, the place where we get the bird supplies will think all their Christmases came early lol. As soon as we get the birds, we will post pics, The wife said it was ten breeding pairs, I was not sure of the number. The first two hens will work out great once they clear quarantine, as our daughter's birds are two males.
