Posted January 22, 201015 yr Hi My name is Sean, and I'm new to this forum. I'm making an effort to get the best out of this forum because I love birds, and I happen to have two budgies, I want to learn as much as I can from them and I feel this is a great way to do so. I can't get a very good picture of them.. They just seem to.. Know. They're still babies, I'd estimate around 5 months old, They were hand fed and are very friendly, but still get scared easily and you can easily tell they're just looking for someone to trust. I have been unable to find a suitable name for these two, I'm open to suggestions and I'd love to hear them Confirmed by Karen, they're both males. (Thanks). EDIT: Here's some pictures! Finally! :grouphug: I have lots of pictures of my other birds(And more of my budgies).. I'm not sure if it's appropriate to post them, but you can take a look here: http://s736.photobucket.com/albums/xx6/RawrSean/Animals/ P.S. The cages they're in are MUCH bigger than it seems. Also, I'm sorry the last picture is bigger than allowed.. I told Photobucket to upload them at 480 640, I have no idea why that one didn't listen. Edited January 22, 201015 yr by Sean

January 22, 201015 yr Author Thank you, I'll do that and upload all of my animal (mostly birdy) photos, and post a few of the budgies. :grouphug: Thank you for the much appreciated tutorial. If you'll give me just a few minutes, I'll post the image directly to the post. Edited January 22, 201015 yr by Sean
January 22, 201015 yr Sean and :grouphug: to the forum. I had a look at your birds they look very nice, like to see more photos later. Edited January 22, 201015 yr by splat
January 22, 201015 yr Author Thanks; Surprisingly, it takes quite a bit of time to upload 105 photos (all of which are around 2MB), FIOS just doesn't work like it used to.
January 22, 201015 yr :emoticon112: Welcome to the BBC! A great place to learn about caring for your budgies and to meet lots of budgie luvers! I sympathize with your difficulties in taking a 'good' photo ... Yes! I am convinced that they see the camera and think "Uh Oh, not posing now!"
January 22, 201015 yr Author It's not just the budgies that do that, for me at least. One of my love birds are practically scared of the camera so much that he runs anywhere he can, and my cockatiel hates the flash and knows that a strange box comes and then boom, the flash, so he runs as well. Nevertheless, I still love them.. even If I can't show people the beauty I see.
January 22, 201015 yr Wow, that green Budgie looks just like our latest addition. It was named Ollie, after one of my favourite all time comedy acts, okay half of the act. Welcome to the forum! They have been a big help to us and we get a pleasure out of reading all the post, esp the humourous ones.

January 22, 201015 yr Photos of birds are best taken with no flash............especially if you want people to help you sex them or check out their colour or type for instance....try your camera without flash and see how you go. If it is automatic flash, cover the flash with a piece of tape. :emoticon112:
January 22, 201015 yr Author Thanks for the tip! Actually, I have tried without the flash, but the photos just turn out too dark.
January 22, 201015 yr Thanks for the tip! Actually, I have tried without the flash, but the photos just turn out too dark. Time of day and natural light available to you will come into it of course :emoticon112:
January 22, 201015 yr Thanks for the tip! Actually, I have tried without the flash, but the photos just turn out too dark. Time of day and natural light available to you will come into it of course I've been taking pictures without flash and they come out blurry, and my husband always tells me to move the lamp closer, so there will be more ambient lighting. I guess the trick is to get bright enough light to speed up the shutter speed, but not so much light that you wash out the subject. (Did I mention I got a D in a photography class in college?) Here is a (bad) name suggestion. It just popped into my head when I saw the picture: Tweety and Sylvester. (But I would feel bad for the one who got the Sylvester name. ) Besides, Tweety is pretty cliche.
January 24, 201015 yr Author Cliche indeed, my other 5 birds have names that end in y or ie, I'd like to keep it like that. I'm having a very hard time coming up with names..
January 24, 201015 yr Thanks for the tip! Actually, I have tried without the flash, but the photos just turn out too dark. YES! I knew it wasn't just me!!!! But here's a tip I just figured out lately: save your photos to photobucket and then click on Edit and adjust the brightness
