Posted January 20, 201015 yr I am just wondering what colour you would call this little fella, he is out of 2 sky blue spangles. There are 2 other babies out of the same nest they were both normal blues. You cant see it overly well in the picture but he has got slight grey marking on his wings. Any ideas??
January 20, 201015 yr If that is a black eye I see I would say he is a suffused Double Factor White Spangle
January 20, 201015 yr Author okay so I know this is going to sound really dumb, but I know my colours sort of ( thanks Kaz ) but not that well. So I get the DF and the Spangle part but not the suffusion....a little help???

In this case it is blue that shows through as suffusion, not grey.
January 20, 201015 yr Author okay thanks very much , this little bird is about to go to my nephew as he is very friendly already and my nephews died
January 21, 201015 yr awwww you have a very lucky nephew! that is a delightful bird. i am very jealous
January 21, 201015 yr what does the double factor part mean? It means that mum and dad are spangles. 1+1=double
January 21, 201015 yr what does the double factor part mean? It means that mum and dad are spangles. 1+1=double :grouphug: It also means that one spangle factor removes some of the wing markings, and doubling the factor removes the rest of the markings, leaving a clear white or yellow bird. In your case, some of the body color got left on, thus the suffusion.
