How many times you must guage by checking her...maybe twice....your choice. i bath twice if just red looking and if inflamed three times per day for two to three days then twice for week or intill normal but keep seperate for longer

January 20, 201015 yr Renee have you got a clearer photo, but my hen looked much worse her eye swelled up so bad and had a big lump towards the the eye and red it was crimson red, but swashing in warm boiuled salted water 3 times a day and looking much better no rednes anymore and the swelling has gone down heaps. still not great yet though, I have started her on a broadspectrum antibotic advised by the avian vet. But I believe it's the salt water that is doing the job, killing all those rotten little germs. Actually it is the hen below her left eye Edited January 20, 201015 yr by splat
January 20, 201015 yr Author Well Julie, I Have Tried to get a good photo - and failed. I bought Kaz's "old" camera before Christmas and am just awaiting delivery ... maybe then my photos will improve :offtopic: As I indicated I bathed her eye in salt water and then switched to tea, there was an improvement which you can't see really and now today she is on the Ionic Silver liquid which was the original plan from Friday. I expect to see a slow but steady improvement. If I can describe it I would say it is like her inner eye lid has swollen up, but you can now see her eye which you couldn't on Monday. okay, Take 3. I have fiddled with the camera settings ... you be the judge Note that I offer her my thumb to chew on in the hope it keeps her head still?! She has the reputation of a being "biter" in the nest .... but she wasn't biting today Edited January 20, 201015 yr by renee
January 20, 201015 yr Have you maybe got the focus set to background focus only? so anything in the foreground is blurred? What if you used the Macro setting? Does your camera have that? It's good for extreme close ups My little cinnamon had sore red eyes. I've been bathing them in salt water and they are almost normal again. Salt water is brilliant stuff :offtopic:

Actually she is showing no signs of discomfort at all and blinks it in perfectly. I found the tea bag a bit messy and tea was going down her ear .... the eye dropper works a treat.
