Hi guys,

My little girl is 6 weeks old now & I am yet to figure out her colour. I know ( ) she is a YF2 cinnamon opaline but not sure if she is a mauve (her little sister is mauve) or violet or cobalt like her mum & dad.

I have studied her cheek patches & the best colour I can describe them as is brown! Is this possible?

Hope the pics are okay, she is a very active little thing!

I know nothing about colours, but in the third picture where she is looking down, I can see blue/purple in her check patch!?!?

 

Oh, and she is beautiful too!!!!

They look grey to me.

no i think your right she does look mauve

as she gets older you will be-able to tell as she will show tad mauve under wing

what colours were the mum and dad

kaz could be right if one was grey

but grey yf normally go olive mossy green colour

she is a cinnamon wing so her spots will be brown, and her cheek patches looks purple/violet to me, she I would say she is a yellow faced type 2 mauve opaline cinnamon wing

I think she definitely is mauve. Both her parents are cobolt (violet and cobolt), and then grey is out of the question.

So all I was missing was the mauve! I wasn't sure what colour the YF turned mauve.

At least I got the girl part right! I did didn't I?
