Posted January 9, 201015 yr I'm not new to budgies, one of my uncles used to be a breeder in the late 70's, early 80's, I loved spending every holidays at my uncles place, he used to always let me help him. ncle Charlie had 50 breeding pairs and I learned so much from him, he only let them breed once a year and retired them at 4 yrs of age. I was feeling miserable with bad health ( I suffer from Meniere's) so my Husband Tom decided after hearing me talk about my uncles birds and went out and bought 2 budgies, my husband went to a breeder and got no 1 ( now named Kramer) I fell in love with him . 2nd one is Darla. This is Kramer, my daughter is holding him ( we think he is male the breeder said he was) although this picture doesn't show it, Kramer is a vivid violet and his cere is a deep mauve than what is shown. over the last couple months we have found that Kramer has a tail fetish and his personality fits in with that of the tv character Kramer from Seinfeld, hence his name. Darla Is gorgeous, can't see her cere because everytime we try to take her picture she turns her back on us, Darla we have found also has a fetish, her's is eye glasses. Darla out of the two is the biggest sook, loves getting kisses and is always sitting on one of our heads or shoulders. We have two other pics to come of two others we have since gotten, a blue budgie named Jesse, he loves trying to dismantle his swing. And our other little gem is Hedwig, She is beautiful, she seems to be more of a bossy boot, but she loves flying around the house. Hedwig, we haven't worked out weather she is a lacewing or clearwing, so as soon as we get her picture, we'll put it up for someone to give their opinion of what she could be. Since typing my post here, Kramer and Hedwig have just hit it off with each other, they are ontop of Kramers cage, and she has begged him to feed her and he also started grooming her too, this is a first, he always kept trying to mount her but she never wanted a thing to do with him, now they are grooming each other, this is so awesome :fear . Lucky we do have breeding boxes just in case, for us it is a case of if they mate they mate, if not, we have wonderful companions.
