Hi again,

You can tell my kids are occupied. Maybe i have too much time on my hands today.

I recently have had 12 chicks fledge and i am curious as to how i would describe them as a few have lighter markings on their wings, some darker etc. Their is a lot of info on this topic but also some conflicting stuff so i am a bit confused. I also have a bird that has a green wash over it's chest feathers, bright yellow underneath it's wings & on back when it's wings are stretched out. Here goes. Hope someone can help.

This guy has the green wash (the blue chick next to him is his sister)

I pop a couple more of him on.

now one of his back

next are a couple of his sisters.

It's the wing colour Eg: greywing?? that has me curious.

This young boy is quite small but i have kept him as he is split to Lutino

and is also a golden face so i was hoping to breed him to a bigger hen.

What colour would you say he is, he is currently moulting and has green coming through

and his lemon is now bright golden buttercup yellow. What should i record him as????

Thanks,

Lib

next are a couple of his sisters. The one at the back is a Cinnamon Opaline Grey Green and the one at the front is a Cinnamon Light Green.

A bit hard to tell from this one photo. Can we have a few more photo's of this one. Front and back and especially now that he is moulting.

Thanks for that.

I will post some pictures of the last bird today.

I think he may be a grey wing.

I appreciate your help. I have been breeding budgies most of my life as a hobby but have recently decided to take it further.

I have never really taken much notice as a kid about colours, wing colours if it was a spangle or opaline etc but i am now taking notice and finding it very interesting. This site is very informative.
