Posted January 3, 201015 yr Meet Santa , my handsome light green opaline spangle from the lovely Kaz. He is named Santa for his beard and I received him around christmas. I had the choice between Aussie and Santa - I couldn't decide between the two names so I pulled the name out of a hat. Karen thought of the name (Thanks for that ) Each time I tried to take a photo he seemed to know and slightly moved behind the bars of the cage grrr oh well. Just means I can spend more time with him trying to get the perfect shot Santa I also received a hen (Mrs Claws named so because she came with Santa and birds have claws hahah who is lovely that Karen so kindly gifted me . She is quite a bit larger than Santa, though Santa is still growing. Mrs Claws Santa is SUCH a cheeky boy! Before we had even left Karen's house, whilst we were still in the front yard he was chatting up Mrs Claws AND he continued to do so all the way home! She is not overly impressed with his advances and has tried to put him into place, though he hasn't quite gotten the idea she isn't the one for him. She only has a few more weeks to put up with him as they are in quarantine, though if I see her becoming stressed or upset I shall separate them straight away. It's a shame I didn't have the camera on me this morning! I caught Santa playing in his water bowl with a gumleaf and he had a guilty look on his face when I saw him as if to say "oh Dang i've been sprung" haha What a character. Sorry for the long post

January 14, 201015 yr Ahhh, thus why the offspring is so good. I need to introduce that bloodline into my aviary (wondering when the next auction is?)
January 21, 201015 yr Author As it wasn't an overly hot day, I released Santa and Mrs Claws into the aviary today So excited!! They are the first of my budgies to go into the aviary and they seem quite pleased. I tried to take some photos of my handsome man but, well, he decided to play peek a boo instead. Can you see me? Peek a Boo! Missed ME!!! BOO! So I sprung him as he started eyeing off Mrs Claws who is still totally disgusted with his advances and completely uninterested, poor boy. And because I love him soo muchly, I decided to take a few more photos. I love his blow and beard and his colours :grouphug: I tried to get Mrs Claws but she was much too interested in flying around and I haven't yet figured out how to take motion pictures. I shall try and take some photos of her tomorrow.
