December 25, 200915 yr Agreed. Cobalt Yellowface Dominant Pied male, and very young still. And cute too.
December 25, 200915 yr If you scroll up to the search link and type in "recessive", you will gets heaps of info about the difference...there is also "combination pieds", as well. Click on the below link for a good post to read.. http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....mbers+recessive
December 25, 200915 yr i would say a golden face spangled dominant pied of normal wing colour in cobalt maybe 6 to 7 weeks old 8 at very oldest hes lovely and his colour will change lots up till he is about one year old however he will stay beautiful
December 25, 200915 yr Kaz - you missed spangled. very cute but even with clipped wings it isn't a good idea to have you bird outside, it can panic and try to fly, crash and hurt itself. some can still travel a fair distance and then there is other wildlife that can harm it.

I thought it might be spangle too
December 26, 200915 yr I thought Spangle as well, what with the wing markings, but the head markings are definitely not Spangle...
January 2, 201015 yr you can't go with the head markings (cheek patches) with this bird as the pied gene affects them
January 3, 201015 yr you can't go with the head markings (cheek patches) with this bird as the pied gene affects them that is so true and if we got a back shot it may even be opaline spangled which is really hard to tell unless back shot provided as the pied gene mixed with spangle can make it difficult to spot but its not hard if you are use to it i breed these all time so i know the look of the opaline mixed with the spangled pied
