Your right...umm here's another link: http://picasaweb.google.com/homebredbirds/...336851288251826 It would be awesome if someone could help me out. I had this question posted on another forum and someone said it was a male when all along I thought it was a female. So I am looking for some second opinions
December 20, 200915 yr I can see why people are having such difficulty. Do you have any other pics? Is the cere always miscoloured like that or was this a photo when it was younger? Has the cere changed as the bird has matured or gone in and out of breeding condition? Edited December 20, 200915 yr by Dave_McMinn
December 20, 200915 yr Author I can see why people are having such difficulty. Do you have any other pics? Is the cere always miscoloured like that or was this a photo when it was younger? Has the cere changed as the bird has matured or gone in and out of breeding condition? When I originally bought the bird, around 6 months ago, the cere was about the same color (purplish brown). The budgie is definitely between 1-2 years of age right now. I have seen the cere change color from darker to lighter but that's about it. I originally bought the bird thinking it was a female but I am having second thoughts now. I think it might be a male because when I paired the opaline with a cock the opaline was the one that was feeding the cock all the time. And when I observed them it was the opaline that was puting a leg on the other male. Here's a picture 1 month after I got him/her (zoom in to get better look): http://picasaweb.google.ca/homebredbirds/G...464203945303810
December 20, 200915 yr Seems to be a male with hormonal issues, and sometimes may indicate testicular cancer. Try adding a few drops of iodine to its water for awhile and see if it helps.
