December 20, 200915 yr Author Breakthrough! he let him pat him on his tummy! (I hate how many times i have to say him or his )I got some celery which he seemed t like and quickly patted him before giving him celerygruadually i increased the time that i patted him for and success! he's still not too sure and often i can't get near enough for me to teach him to step up although he did step up to my hand when i had some millet I'll get there soon enough have a nice day!PS: I'm really not sure 'bout the name maybe Romeo (coz he steals my heart) Edited December 20, 200915 yr by budgiegirl
December 20, 200915 yr If you continue with him stepping up onto your hand with the millet, he should become tame to your finger. I tamed my budgie that way, except it was with his toys. I put the toy behind my finger so he had to step up onto my finger if he wanted to get to his toys. After about two weeks, he was comfortable with stepping up onto my finger without the toys there for encouragement Anyway, I wish you the best of luck taming him!

It is full of liquid and have little nutritional value. It can also give them the runs. Go for better greens like bok choy or silverbeet.

December 20, 200915 yr Author JUST WENT ON MY FINGER!!!!! i am currently teaching him the step up command and might call him skipper, in honour of LILBABYBUDGIES (that is what she named him ) just a question: how do you get them on your finger without food? For me it's impossiable thanks in advance! I have used the search function
December 20, 200915 yr Takes time... start with food, and eventually he should do it without it. You can also push your finger gently on his belly, just near his legs, this forces him to step. But I wouldn't push it too soon, you don't want to scare him off.
