Breakthrough! he let him pat him on his tummy! (I hate how many times i have to say him or his :) )I got some celery which he seemed t like and quickly patted him before giving him celerygruadually i increased the time that i patted him for and success! he's still not too sure and often i can't get near enough for me to teach him to step up although he did step up to my hand when i had some millet :) I'll get there soon enough B) have a nice day!PS: I'm really not sure 'bout the name maybe Romeo (coz he steals my heart)

If you continue with him stepping up onto your hand with the millet, he should become tame to your finger. I tamed my budgie that way, except it was with his toys. I put the toy behind my finger so he had to step up onto my finger if he wanted to get to his toys. After about two weeks, he was comfortable with stepping up onto my finger without the toys there for encouragement :)

Anyway, I wish you the best of luck taming him!

Good progress thus far, but I'd stop giving him celery. It is full of liquid and have little nutritional value. It can also give them the runs. Go for better greens like bok choy or silverbeet.

JUST WENT ON MY FINGER!!!!! :) i am currently teaching him the step up command and might call

him skipper, in honour of LILBABYBUDGIES (that is what she named him :))

just a question: how do you get them on your finger without food? For me it's impossiable

thanks in advance!

I have used the search function

Takes time... start with food, and eventually he should do it without it. You can also push your finger gently on his belly, just near his legs, this forces him to step. But I wouldn't push it too soon, you don't want to scare him off.

yesturday he came out into the open! yes very exciting for him :)

skipper loves sitting on my shoulder now and it seems like he understands that the hand is

taking him out side which is now his fav spot

He refuses to get put back in and loves chewing my collar

YAYAY! I had no idea that he would like it on my shoulder so much

I will get more pics when i can find the camera he is gowing cuter by the second!
