January 26, 201015 yr Well with breeding boxes is it safe to put them within the aviary? or would i need to make a seperate room for them? Too many distractions for breeding pairs if the breeding cabinets are inside the aviary, especially if the other birds clamber all over them. If you could section off an internal part of the aviary for your breeding cages it would work well and you have enough space for that too.
January 26, 201015 yr Author Thanks the fibro walls are insulated with a low grade insulation but it is better then none i guess. the birds really do enjoy the area. Also in response to Kaz I had a good look at the aviary looking for where to put the breeding division and thought the area looks to good to break it up. So I looked outside the cage and think down the right side of the cage I may very well have enough room to have an extension. with room for probably 10 breeding cages stacked 2 high. Elevated 1m off the ground. (The gap is about 4m long and approximately 1m wide. I have colorbond leftover which i can use to roof it off so I may have another project for 6 months.) What would everyone's thoughts be on this idea? I would like to let everyone know I really appreciate the ideas and thoughts that have helped me so far. Edited January 26, 201015 yr by Rodiss
January 26, 201015 yr Since I have seen your location of the aviary..................why have the security door inside the main section ?You have the right sized gap at the right of the aviary between it and the Shed ? Garage? carport ? Why not make an external security door section on the right hand side ? Even the full length of it back of that area could be used for storage. Just a thought :fingerscrossed:Already suggested using this space for something :doh:Thanks the fibro walls are insulated with a low grade insulation but it is better then none i guess. the birds really do enjoy the area. Also in response to Kaz I had a good look at the aviary looking for where to put the breeding division and thought the area looks to good to break it up. January 26, 201015 yr My breeding room is on the side of Gregs shed which is 30ft long, so my breeding room is almost 30ft long and 5 or 6 feet wide, can't really remember but their is a 6 ft baby aviary in the middle, so a breeding room each side. the shed is my side wall. It is good but to be honest I would prefer to have it wider, some times I am stuck for room, especially when Clearwing visits we struggle to pass each other BUT then when I get annoyed with it I have to remind myself that I am lucky to have what I have. :fingerscrossed:
