Featured Replies

Hey everyone

my names alicia

new here

had a few budgies in my early days and have only just started up again now

Bubbles is my new darling

Wondering if any of you could help me determine what kind of bird he is?

I was never any good with this?

Maybe grey factor, recessive pied, clearwing?

photobucket is making me cry. will post images shortly

Welcome and yes we can help you once you post the pics ^_^

From the other pics you posted on what sex he looks like a recessive pied but full front and back pics are best.

I'm thinking he's a Grey Cinnamon Recessive Pied. And very cute.

Recessive pied yes...cinnamon ...no I dont think so, or the wings would have brown markings. The wing markings are grey and so is the tail. Seems to be carrying greywing.

Recessive pied greywing.

Sex is ambiguous...a lot of photos show white on the cere which indicates female, BUT did you use a flash on your camera as that throws out colours especially cere colours ? Is there white on the cere at all ?

To me it looks like a Cinnamon Grey Recessive Pied Cock but flash photos make it hard. I would pitch for the possibility of opaline too just looking at the tail.

I didn't think he was Opaline, because of the markings you can see on his face?

I ummed and ahhed about it for a while. You do see markings in opalines just much finer than normals - his look kinda on the normal side but his tail has quite a colour flash down the middle but then I think rec pied can cause some grizzled markings and maybe that's all it is. Happy to concur that he is normal, happy to concur that he is opaline - mainly coz I can't quite make up my mind!

So where are the brown markings indicating cinnamon ? I see grey not brown. :rip:

Where are they????? There on the wings is where they are......... Sorry Kaz obviously where you see grey, Jen and I see brown. Even in the "what sex are they" pics I see cinnamon.

i see grey too not cinnamon

Me too. But this always happens to me. There are a lot of times when all of you will say that a bird is cinnamon, but I can only see grey. Maybe it is just my monitor.

Hey guys

Thanks for all your replies

Im not sure how it's come up in the photo but in true life he is clearly grey. no trace of cinnamon at all.

cheers

real life is always better than photos, what did you think suits more grey or brown? we might ask for sunshine shots with no flash to get a better idea.
