Kaz, you could always swap Quiche for another opaline spangle just before it gets on the plane.... Dave wouldn't notice. If he did, it would be too late anyway.

Good thought ;) but the legring would be a dead give away

Looking fantastic there Dave. Its got your ring on so when are you going to show him?

I would feel bad showing him, since I did not breed him.

Might take him to my club, but probably not.

When he is ready and in the right condition..........show him. At least you will know where he stands.

Ha ha... See told ya Karen...

 :laughter: :laughter: :laughter: :laughter:

Well the plane left at 20 minutes or so after midnight, and touched down here in Sydney at about 6:40. It then took another 50 minutes for Quiche and friends to get to Australian air Express and finally make it to the car, and 25 minute care trip, and finally they got into a cage with a chance to stretch their wings. They are in a holding cage at the moment, but they seem to have travelled very well.

The have some seed and water with doxy treatment for the next 2-3 weeks, but after that, they will be making it into the big aviary.

I have taken some quick  on my iphone (crappy camera) and i will take some better photos for now.

In the photos we have Quiche - who seemed quite content to try to be at the front and get in every picture, and two birds I bought off Cec Gearing recently, that Karen picked up for me and sent with Quiche. An 09 rung GreyGreen Hen and a 10 rung YF Opaline Yellow Face boy (whose marking indicate he may well be carrying violet)

Anyway, here are some quick :laughter:. No more :laughter: until they settle in more. They are happily chirping to the other birds, which is good.

What a poser that Quiche is :laughter:

He really is........ :laughter: Where do you think he learnt that?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I am sitting in the room next door and they are running up and down their cage looking for a way out. If they are like this is one of my holding cages, I can only begin to guess what they were like in the travel cage -

The travel cage, made by Splat I think, is great. Might need to steal the design and make a few like that myself, for future occassions when needed.

That is my assumption too Dave based on what I saw of him.

I am so glad Quiche has been reunited with you Dave! That is wonderful news

And it looks like you picked up some very good birds from Cec and Brenda too!

Well done and thanks to Kaz who helped make it happen.

Since they travelled in the dark of night I would guess they settled down to sleep and werent going too crazy :laughter:

Splats boxes are excellent !!!

April is not a good month to be moving birds due to the annual moult. I hope his feathers heal fast. I have mine on the breeding mix at the moment with soaked seed, iodine, pro-biotic, budgie starter and also a pinch of Spirulina.

Perhaps give the birds their doxy in soaked seed rather than in water so they can feed their feather growth too :)

Yeah Dave is on hols so it was a good time to send the birds, plus the fact we had just got the two from Cec.
